- Sugar exacerbates ADHD symptoms, so try to use sugar free products as it would be safer.
- You can sweeten any food or beverage using artificial sweetener, but make sure to be apart from aspartame, as it is able to affect brain functions due to its amino acids nature.
- Avoid any product contains artificial colors, especially red and yellow.
- Don’t exceed the daily allowed dose of caffeine, which is 600 milligrams for adults, 100 milligrams for teens and 45 milligrams for younger children.
- Although caffeine pills are available at pharmacies as non prescribed medications, it should be taken under a physician supervision.
