Signs and symptoms of ADHD usually show before the age of 7. Inattentiveness, hyperactivity and impulsivity are the three main problems facing children with ADHD, they affect the child’s behavior both at school and at home.
There are three subtypes of ADHD you must be ware of:
- Combined ADHD is the most common subtype of the three where the child shows symptoms of both inattentiveness and hyperactivity/impulsivity.
- Inattentive ADHD showing more signs of inattentiveness than hyperactivity/impulsivity where the child is mostly absent minded and day dreaming through the day.
- Hyperactive-impulsive ADHD showing more symptoms of hyperactivity and impulsivity, where the child is always running around or talking non-stop.
